Privacy Policy

Last updated 20 September 2026

Welcome to LOWR, a platform that connects customers and service providers through dynamic, auction-based interactions. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website and mobile application (“LOWR”).

Lowr is the controller of the personal data described here. If you only want the short version: we collect what the marketplace needs to work, we do not sell your data, and you can delete your account from inside the app at any time.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information:

When you register or use Lowr, we may collect:

  • Full name, username, and contact details (email, phone number)
  • Profile photo and bio (if provided)
  • Payment details (only processed securely through third-party gateways — we never store your full card number)
  • Government ID or verification documents (if required for provider validation)

Service Data

  • Posts, bids, ratings, and reviews you create or respond to
  • Messages exchanged through our platform
  • Transaction records (services purchased, bids submitted, payments made)
  • Job addresses you save or attach to an order, including map coordinates where you set them
  • Photos, videos and documents you upload to a job, a profile or a chat

Technical Information

  • Device details (model, operating system, app version)
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Precise device location — only while you are using a feature that needs it, such as finding nearby jobs or setting an address on the map, and only if you grant the permission. You can withdraw it in your device settings at any time.
  • A push notification token, if you allow notifications, so we can deliver them to your device
  • App usage statistics, activity logs and diagnostics

Granting the camera, photo library, location or notification permissions is optional. Declining one only disables the feature that needs it; the rest of the app continues to work.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Match customers and providers through our auction-based marketplace
  • Process payments, withdrawals, and commissions
  • Send service notifications, updates, and offers
  • Show distances and nearby jobs, where you have shared a location
  • Review provider applications and resolve disputes between users
  • Improve our platform performance and user experience
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activities
  • Comply with legal or regulatory obligations

We do not use your personal data to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. A person reviews provider applications and disputes.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share limited information in the following cases:

  • With other users — your username, profile photo, rating, reviews and completed-job count are visible to people you interact with. A job’s address is shared with a provider only after you award them the job.
  • With service providers who process payments, host data, or deliver messages on our behalf, under contract and only for that purpose
  • With authorities if required by law or to protect user safety
  • With business partners during mergers, acquisitions, or transfers (under confidentiality agreements)

The processors we rely on:

  • Stripe — card payments, holds and payouts
  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage and real-time messaging
  • Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivering push notifications
  • Resend — sending transactional and update emails
  • Apple Maps and Google Maps — displaying maps and resolving addresses
  • Sentry — crash reports and diagnostics, so we can find and fix where the app fails

Each of these has its own privacy policy governing what it does with the data we send it.

5. International Transfers

Some of the providers listed above operate servers outside the United Arab Emirates, so your data may be stored or processed abroad. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards permitted by UAE data protection law — an adequacy decision covering the destination country, or contractual protections requiring a standard of protection equivalent to the one described in this policy.

6. Data Storage and Security

  • Your information is stored securely on servers that follow recognized data protection standards.
  • We use encryption (SSL/TLS) in transit and access control at the database level, so a user can only read the records they are entitled to.
  • Access to personal data by our own team is limited to what a task requires — for example, reviewing a provider application or resolving a dispute.
  • In case of a data breach, we will notify affected users promptly and comply with applicable legal requirements.

No system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us at once if you think someone else has access to your account.

7. Cookies, Storage and Analytics

Lowr is a native mobile app, so it does not use browser cookies. It stores a small amount of data on your device instead:

  • A sign-in token, so you stay logged in between sessions. Removing it signs you out.
  • Your preferences — language, currency, theme, and the filters you last used.
  • A cache of recently viewed content, so lists load quickly and work briefly without a connection.
  • Analytics and crash diagnostics, which tell us which screens are used and where the app fails.

You can review and change what is optional under Cookie Settings in the app menu. You can clear everything at once by signing out or deleting the app. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Our website (lowrapp.com) does use cookies, and you can manage those in your browser settings.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access and request a copy of your data
  • Correct or delete inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Object to certain processing activities
  • Request data portability
  • Complain to the relevant data protection authority

Much of this you can do yourself: edit your profile, change your email or password, turn notifications on or off, and delete your account — all from inside the app. For anything else, email support@lowrapp.com and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Account Deletion and Data Erasure

You can permanently delete your account from Account Settings inside the app. You do not need to email us or ask permission.

What deletion removes:

  • Your profile, photo, bio and contact details
  • Your jobs, bids, offers and saved addresses
  • Your messages, saved items and notification settings
  • Your sign-in credentials — the account cannot be recovered afterwards

What we have to keep, and why:

  • Transaction and payment records, for as long as tax, accounting and anti-money-laundering law requires
  • Reviews you left for other users, with your name removed — deleting them would misrepresent someone else’s record
  • A minimal record of a banned account, so a suspension cannot be undone by re-registering

Settle any open job and withdraw any remaining balance before you delete: deletion does not cancel work you have agreed to, and we cannot pay out to an account that no longer exists.

10. Retention Policy

We keep personal data only as long as we have a reason to:

  • Account data — for as long as your account is open, and deleted when you delete it
  • Job, bid and message history — for the life of the account, since it is what your ratings and record are built from
  • Transaction and payment records — retained after deletion for the period required by UAE tax and accounting law
  • Verification documents — kept only as long as needed to review an application and to meet any legal obligation, then deleted
  • Diagnostics and logs — kept for a short period, typically no more than 12 months

11. Children’s Privacy

Lowr is for adults. You must be at least 18 to create an account, and the Platform is neither designed for nor directed at children.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete the account and the data. If you believe a child has given us information, email support@lowrapp.com and we will act on it.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

Our platform may contain links to third-party sites (e.g., payment gateways or partner offers). We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Platform changes or the law requires. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page always tells you which version is in force.

If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell you by email or an in-app message before it takes effect, so you have a chance to review it.
